Jack Hues

Jack specialised in composition and electronic music at Goldsmiths College and The Royal College of Music, London in the '70s and was a founder member of Wang Chung who were signed to Geffen Records in Los Angeles, USA. The band had huge success with the album 'Points On The Curve' which included the massive selling, Top 20 single 'Dance Hall Days'. The number one American hit 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight' and the movie soundtrack to William Friedkin's 'To Live & Die in LA' cemented Wang Chung's position as a leading 80's band. Jack went on to compose more film soundtracks, was briefly signed as a solo artist to Columbia Records and produced albums for Definition Of Sound (with Chris Hughes), Arturo (with Mick Glossop) and Arkarna. In 2002 he met up with pianist Sam Bailey and formed the eclectic jazz group Illuminated – later renamed The-Quartet - for which Jack has composed some of his most original and inspired work.

At Christ Church Jack teaches Songwriting to students in all levels.
