John Hursey
John Hursey studied Music and European History at St. Catherine's College Cambridge. Previous appointments include Lecturer in Music at the London Institute of Education, Head of Adult Education for the City of Canterbury and Moderator for the Department of Adult Education at Southhampton University. He is currently Course Director of the Access to Music and Certificate of Music, as well as an Associate Lecturer in Humanities at the Open University.
John Hursey's research interests include specific processes within adult learning of music (book in progress); the primary and secondary sources which underpin musical styles; music and well-being. Publications include 'Adult Education and the Arts' (Nottingham University) and an arrangement of Chopin's letters read by three actors interleaved with performances of his music.
