Lawrie Bolton
Lawrie Bolton is currently a piano and keyboard tutor on the Commercial Music programme, and has been a professional musician and songwriter for over 20 years. In 1991 and 1992 he was band leader and musical director for a US based cruise line, after which production and writing followed including original material for TV shows (The Jonathan Ross Show, Hit Studio International and GMTV). Lawrie has also produced dance tracks and remixes for 'The Music Factory', working on material for Gary Numan, Hazel Dean and Jaki Graham. In 1996 Lawrie started his own production company, providing radio adverts and jingles to national and local radio stations. More recently Lawrie has worked with Alexander O'Neal, G4 and Liberty X.
He is also a member of The AllStars band| – a collective of session musicians, whose recording and live credits in 2005 included George Michael, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Lemar, Jamiroquai, and Rod Stewart. The AllStars will be supporting Earth Wind and Fire, at the Royal Albert Hall in May 2006.
As well as teaching keyboards to students at all levels, Lawrie is also responsible for the regular 'SONGWRITERS' events at the Broadstairs campus, bringing together students and professional session musicians to perform original songs.
